This level is for mastering players, you will learn more complex techniques such as fingerstyle, hybrid picking and advanced improvisation techniques. You will also learn more advanced chords, scales, and rhythm patterns, as well as more advanced music theory and notation.
The Gokyū guitar course is designed to build on the skills and concepts learned in the previous levels and to introduce students to more advanced techniques. The curriculum covers the following topics:
- More advanced lead guitar techniques: students will learn more advanced lead guitar techniques, including hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, and bends.
- More advanced fingerstyle techniques: students will learn more advanced fingerstyle techniques, such as using a thumb-pick and finger-picking patterns.
- More advanced music theory: students will learn more about chord substitution, song form, and music analysis.
- More advanced ear training: students will learn more advanced ear training techniques, including transcribing melodies and solos by ear.
- Basic music production: students will learn the basics of music production, including recording, mixing, and mastering.
- Basic music notation and composition: students will learn how to read sheet music and how to compose their own music.
Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practical exercises, play-alongs with backing tracks and in class performance opportunities.
